BlackHaddock (7741) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2012
This review is of two 500ml cans bought for me from IKEA in the UK, both BBD of 18 May 09, drank during a bad lager evening on 14 Mar 09.

Poured into my ’La Chouffe’ tulip glass (four times). Large off-white head sat on top of a dark amber, clear body. It looked fine and the glass showed it off to its full potential.

An aroma of tea with sugar was what I thought of as my nose approached the beer. Then some molasses and treacle came through.

The taste was strange, the tea smell gave way to a mild coffee flavour and some toffee sweetness, I didn’t like it much.

The body was weak, a bitter finish in the mouth didn’t help its cause and I was pleased they had been a free gift and I hadn’t paid for them.

Promised so much at first, but sadly lacking once tasted and when compared to other dark lagers.

larsga (7668) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 8, 2009
Big yellow-beige coarseish head. Barely translucent dark red body with carbonation. Fruity roasty buttery aroma, kind of weak, with chocolatey papery notes. Dry-sweetish roasty buttery wild berry taste kind of clashes with itself, and with the dry roasty papery cinnamon aftertaste that follows. Some raisins and coke, too. Mid-to-full body. Decent, in a way, but didn’t enjoy that much. (0.5l can, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)

500ml Can - Copper/red with a foamy head. Malty, fruity and slightly sweet aroma with caramel and dried fruit detected. Fruity and malty taste with raisins, caramel and marzipan. The finish is fruity, malty, sweet and moderately bitter.

caesar (7332) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2007
Canned. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of some roasted malt, bit caramel, slight chocolat. Mlaty taste, bit sweet. Actually not bad for a canned beer.

olsvammel (7292) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 15, 2013
Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. Sweet and fruity smel with some dried fruit and light notes of marcipan. Mild taste with notes of wort bread. Not as bad as the other industrial beers but still not very good.

larsniclas (7234) - Billdal, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2006
Dark amber. Small, short head.
Some chocolate and toffee in the aroma.
Also present in flavour with licorice added. Not bad.

ekstedt (6991) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 16, 2007
Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Deep copper with a medium beige head. Caramelly aroma with fudge and chocolate. Light to medium body, with a bit spritzy mouthfeel. Dry with clear roasted bitterness.

KnutAlbert (6793) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2009
Sweet malt, gingerbread, a little burned sugar, toast. Some dryness and a little mint in the finish. Red glow. OK.

Pyrmir (6333) - Blattniksele, SWEDEN - APR 13, 2013
Can, rated from backlog. Aroma malty and bready, metallic hints. Taste is sweet and thin with same notes.

TimE (6163) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 13, 2007
Dark brown color, caramel and spice in the nose. Slightly sour, caramel, milk chocolate in the mouth. Caramel raisin finish. This would be better if it just wasn’t so sour.
