Bottle, picked up at the brewery and consumed on the main drag of sulzbach watching the town’s annual parade led by a band of Scottish bagpipers. A really good mix of all the possible helles flavours which seem amped up a bit. There’s some caramel, menthol, hay, honey and red berry with a chewy texture. A good reminder that with a helles, being usually subtle (read dull), the only chance of it being interesting is if it is super fresh? One of the most vigorous and intense helleses I’ve tried

On tap. Served a light go;den color with a thick foamy head that faded to bits of lacing. Aroma of light malt sweetness, bit of citrus and fruit. Taste of citrus, mild malt sweetness, bit of grain and fruit. Decent bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, crisp and quite refreshing. Nice beer that went well with dinner.

It’s dark golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of grain, bread and fruit/flower. The flavor has a light sweetness and soft notes of grain, bread, flower and light fruit, and the finish is slightly dry. Lovely.

Bottle. Light cracker malt and grassy hop aroma. Golden , big bobbles, collapsing head. Bready malt, fresh grassy hops. slightly too light body and somewhat fizzy. A hint salt on the grassy finish. Pleasnt enough despite its drawbacks.
