Pours a nice gold-orange color, with a small but tight head that leaves huge lace all the way down the glass. It is a little hazy. Aroma is softly smoky, grainy, and toasty, very nice and sweet. Flavor is grainy and smoky, malty sweet with a very restrained noble hop. Smoke comes through the most in a soft aftertaste. Very pleasant beer with a great but restrained smoke character.
Several times fresh from tap (fränkischer Anstich/ wooden barrel) at Spezial Keller - Gentle touch of smoke, beechwood and ham. Also fresh wood notes (unsmoked) in taste and smoked ham. 500 ml from tap at Spezial Brauerei in Bamberg. Clear amber colour, small head. A bit reserved smoke aroma, citrus fruits, roasted malt. Bitter smoky taste, no sweetness. Bottle, one month before bbd. Pours oak coloured golden, with a big creamy, off white head. Aroma is smoked malts, with bread, bonfire and wooden barrels, as well as leather and heather. 7 year opf bottle shared at muckfest by mrmuck. The beer is a murky amber color with a beige head of foam. The aroma has paper, raisin, smoke, and grainy notes. More sweet than anything. Bottle shared by thebaldwizard. Thanks, Muck! 2007 vintage. Pours a clear amber with no head. This is oxidized to hell. Tons of cardboard. Smoke, peat, some residual sugars and sweetness. Light-bodied, with low carbonation. I need to rerate a fresh one.

BB 09.05.2017. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells of bacon, light smoke, spices, some caramel, nice smell. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes rather light, some bread, light sausages, spices, caramel, bit of smoke. finishes lightly sweet with notes of caramel, spices and some sausages. quite nice one, rather light (both smoke / bacon and body), but this makes it quite smooth to drink.
