COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This amber colored pale ale was the first beer we brewed together, so it was only fitting to name it FIRST BITE. Generous additions of American hops, light body and a dry.finish give it plenty of flavor and aroma while still remaining highly drinkable. YOU GOT BITTEN

12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Clear amber/copper color with a small white head. Nutty aroma, with some piney hops, ripe fruit and caramel malts. Juicy malt flavor, with sharp piney bitterness and some marmalade. Long bitter finish, kinda dry, pretty balanced and quite drinkable.

12 oz. bottle, bonused to me by BrewtopiaofPJ (thanks Mark), pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is pretty standard, with crackery crystal malt and very mild floral hops. Flavour is almost non-existent, with metallic crystal malts and muted floral hops. Not see what the point is of making such a tasteless and boring beer. Not good.

Bottle at home, from Astoria Bier and Cheese. ($2.75) Light caramel malt underneath a restrained floral hoppiness. A bit of citrus, not much else. Average.

Golden color out of the bottle with a fluffy white head. Light floral nose. Perfumey hop flavors with some resin and a faint malty backbone. Some wet grains and a little newsprint. There is a little grapefruit in the finish. Just okay.

Bottle. Pours clear orange amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is pine, caramel, honey, a touch of, ummm, urine? Flavor is the same, minus the piss, medium sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

12oz bottle: pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny hop nose with a touch of perfume and lightly toasted pale malts. Starts with good fullness and carbonation and light malty sweetness with a touch of honey and lots of fresh piny hop flavor and clean bitter balance before a drier bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and true to style.

A pretty solid, easy drinking pale ale with nice crisp hop bite. Whoever shared this growler at RBWG, I appreciate it very much!
