22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy reddish chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, Belgian yeast and candied sugar. Flavour is quite well-balanced and interesting, with candied sugar, Belgian sugar, dark fruits and bready malt. Quite full-bodied, not too sweet and fairly complex. I didn’t have this fresh, but at 1 year of age, this has turned out pretty good (especially for Spinnakers). Good stuff. fiulijn (20492) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 5, 2014

Hazy dark amber color with creamy head. Chestnut honey aroma. Sweet, with round mouthfeel; caramel flavor, candy, and chestnut honey; low bitterness.
Large frothy off-white head atop a deep mahogany body. Head dissipates rather quickly. Nose of a wino in an alley, dirty, venous, and sweat. Flavour is somewhat low on malt, minor Belgian yeast, even tart. I don’t know what this new beer would do after cellaring. The 8% abv seems overstated, the grand cru is suffering from a slight watery base. Seems to have missed the mark. Gerbeer (3749) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 8, 2014
On tap. Pours an orange brown with light foamy head. Aromas of raisins, figs, oranges, sweet malts, and brown sugar. Flavors of raisins, spice, light resin and brown sugar. Maybe a bit of tobacco. Lots going on although somewhat thin. Hot finish. Ferris (15268) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2014
Draft - Ketchup and dark malts. Cloudy brown with a decent brown head, slightly sour, chocolate malts and candied sugar. Not a fan.

Sampled during VCBW 2014 pours a deep copper color with a finger of off-white head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is caramel and woody with fruity notes. Taste is malty sweet with caramel and fruits with a woody and herbal bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Tasty and enjoyable. vadie (1256) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 15, 2014
