I am unfamiliar with Spinnakers and this was the first of theirs that I tried. It has a pleasant look and aroma. An odd taste for a porter though, but perhaps it was the added flavors.
Bottle smuggled on board a cruise ship! Has a cola thin pour with a reasonably thick head. Aroma and taste of cocoa and slight dark chocolate. Not that bad but definitely more in the style of a porter and not the stout that it is labeled as. RD400F (233) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 6, 2015
Bottle to sam adams glass, beer pours a dark transparent red/brown with a mocha head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, quite a bit of grass and mint. Taste is sweet and chocolatey, to the point of being slightly artificial, but also has notes of bitter hop and coffee. Fairly palatable though the artificalness is a bit annoying, carb low, balance is...OK. Overall...not bad but not wowed. Oakes (19576) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 13, 2014
Dark brown. Sweetish slightly chocolatey aroma. Sweet but thin, touch of chocolate, kind of a simple beer, but it’s not bad. fiulijn (21537) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 25, 2014

Dark brown color with small head. Aroma of dark bread and light aroma of coffee; roasted flax, impression of vomit. Smooth mouthfeel, quite lean; dry chocolate flavor, ordinary bitterness.
Bottle. Slightly translucent, dark brown pour - like cola - with a decent beige head. Light chocolate in the aroma, fairly subtle, with dark malts and a funky soy sauce note as well. Flavour is very malty with dark fruits and subtle chocolate, but again, some funky, meaty soy sauce that seems slightly off. It's not overpowering at all, and I don't think the beer is bad or spoiled. Just a little odd. Lighter palate for the style and ABV, but not bad. Probably deserves better than what some others here are saying, but still not a great stout.

Bomber. Clear deep dark brown, slight ruby hue, fine foamy tan head settles and lasts. Aroma of medium roasted chocolate malt. Thin bittersweet milky chocolate malt taste, some faint coffee. Softer than average carbonation, low hopped, watery body. Smooth and easy, finishes sweet and milky. Not bad... guess I got a gooder! 650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of dry cocoa and metallic notes. Flavour brings out cocoa notes, vanilla, and some metallic notes. Thin, but nicely flavoured. It’s okay. Gerbeer (4217) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2014
750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Aromas of cocoa powder and heavily roasted malts. Dry. Flavors of black coffee and nuts. Somewhat acidic bitter finish. vadie (1257) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 19, 2014
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of light beige head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is light chocolate with some grass and grains. Taste is a grainy malt sweetness with some grassy hop presence with very little chocolate. Body is a little on the thin side. I do not recommend this beer.
