Dark, opaque brown and headless, I can smell it from across the room. It smells like malted joy, and tastes like milk chocolate surrounding 85% dark ecuadoran chocolate. Some beers of this style are a once a night thing but I’m glad I only have the one or I wouldn’t make it to work this week. LarryBeast (616) - - MAR 8, 2013
650ml bottle. Brown/black with dusting of tan head. Nutty, chocolate truffle aroma. Has a dry, chalky feel on the palate. A little thin, but saved by the substantial presence of cocoa nib and chocolate malts. dfearnley (2342) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 11, 2013

Aroma of chocolate, malts, and alcohol. Dark brown, no head. Sweet and bitter, nice chocolate taste. heliport (12) - Indiana, USA - JUN 14, 2013
I am unfamiliar with Spinnakers and this was the first of theirs that I tried. It has a pleasant look and aroma. An odd taste for a porter though, but perhaps it was the added flavors. Gerbeer (4066) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2014
750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Aromas of cocoa powder and heavily roasted malts. Dry. Flavors of black coffee and nuts. Somewhat acidic bitter finish.
Lagerboy (2239) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 14, 2014
Bomber. Clear deep dark brown, slight ruby hue, fine foamy tan head settles and lasts. Aroma of medium roasted chocolate malt. Thin bittersweet milky chocolate malt taste, some faint coffee. Softer than average carbonation, low hopped, watery body. Smooth and easy, finishes sweet and milky. Not bad... guess I got a gooder! Bottle smuggled on board a cruise ship! Has a cola thin pour with a reasonably thick head. Aroma and taste of cocoa and slight dark chocolate. Not that bad but definitely more in the style of a porter and not the stout that it is labeled as. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 7, 2013
(650ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquors for around $7. I'm confused - the label states: "designed to last until the last drop" followed up by "pour carefully in a single motion, leaving the last centimeter"? Anyhow, pours a medium frothy brown head atop an opaque black body. Nose of roasted nuts. Flavour is very similar to a nut brown, vanilla notes and minor cocoa nibs finish. Good.

Bottle. Slightly translucent, dark brown pour - like cola - with a decent beige head. Light chocolate in the aroma, fairly subtle, with dark malts and a funky soy sauce note as well. Flavour is very malty with dark fruits and subtle chocolate, but again, some funky, meaty soy sauce that seems slightly off. It's not overpowering at all, and I don't think the beer is bad or spoiled. Just a little odd. Lighter palate for the style and ABV, but not bad. Probably deserves better than what some others here are saying, but still not a great stout.
