(Cask) Part of Spinnaker’s Recession Ale Series. Purchased for $5.75. First off, I’ve got to admit that I don’t drink energy drinks nor would I recognize the taste of guarana - if there is one? Anyhow, on to the review. Pours a headless deep brown body. Nose of mild molasses and ever so slight pine. There is some nuttiness, but it melds with a wood and cardboard backdrop. Front is flavoured with a nut/watercrest and a thin, oily dark chocolate mid-palate. Slightly dry in the finish, a bit of club soda and skim milk. Interesting. Mild. To light on the palate for my liking, but overall a fine example of a nut brown.
February 19, 2009, release in Spinnaker’s Recession Ale Series.
