On tap at Spinnakers, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out light whiskey and toasted bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted bready malt and a pronounced whiskey note. Not a big fan of this style, but it’s done well and is more flavourful than usual. On tap at the brewpub, muddy, murky dark brown color, with a small ring of beige head. Mild dark dried fruit, brown chocolate, toffee nose, with some faint roasted, toasted,biscuity, bready malty, subtle smoked whisky malt accents and a caramel, french toast, subtle hezelnut note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a fruity, yeasty, light smoked, toasted, caramel, roasted malty, toffee, dried raisin, date, raisin pie, earthy flowery grassy, resiny, citrus hop character, with a toffee, light brown sugar, faint square date, black coffee flavour, leading towards a fruity yeastiness, toffee, brown sugar, lingering toasted, caramel, biscuity, roasted maltiness finish.

On tap @ Spinnakers. Clear amber pour with an off-white head. Sweet bread, caramel, and raisin on the nose. Sort of a maraschino/grenadine nose. Slight fruity acidity. There’s a decent fruit and earthy hop note to the flavor. Otherwise, a lot of toast, caramel, and bread. Cuivre ou même marron foncer avec une petite mousse marron. L’arôme du caramel, malt et scotch. Le goût est d’abord du caramel puis du scotch avec une finition doucement amer. Hint of whiskey and smoke; grainy with a brown sugar sweetness. Medium-bodied, golden-brown with thin white head. Rich and hearty mouthfeel. The bottle I had was good, but I remember it tasting much better on tap (like most beers).
