north west ale is inspired by the assertively hopped beers of the cascadia region. This ale is brewed with 85 IBU’s of pacific north-west hops, superbly well balanced with a strong, copper coloured, malty body.

[on cask at Alibi Room] Interesting faintly smoky aroma, though weak, with a little caramel and US hops. Foggy, yellow-bronze with a lasting, dense, tawny foam. Fruity, english yeast finish to the flavour, which has a bit of diacetyl, with the balance slightly on the sweet side and a mix of UK and bitter pine hops which comes off as somewhat complex. Light to medium body, very low carbonation, smooth, and with a lasting, moderate bitterness.

Clear copper, citrus and wet hop aroma. Bitter with a pine and grapefruit hit. Really sold pale ale!

Big hoppy nose with citrus, floral, pine, and dank notes. Some caramel and pale malts. Pours amber, nice white head. The flavor is hoppy up front, citrus, pine, dank, light caramel, toffee, toast, and pale malts. Nice hop profile, fruity, flavorful, drinkable. Nice.

Draught at the brewpub
Amber color. Wonderful aroma, caramel, toffee and fruity hops, with a light earthy touch. The body is lean, with a good caramel and toffee flavor, the hopping is powerful, with a strong resiny profile. I would have appreciated a beer with a bolder body, but also as is it’s very enjoyable.

Tap @ brewpub. Transparent, slightly dark orange appearance with an ivory head. Citrusy, dank hoppy nose. Slightly low carbonation. Dank, piney, slightly resiny, lightly citrusy flavor. Not bad.

4 ounce sample at the brewpub Taproom at 4 samples for $5.00CAD. Very good.

On tap at the Victoria brewpub. This one was the winner of the evening for both me and MB. A fine northwest style ale with lots of resiny hops.
