This is an average golden ale with a tease of flavor. In the end it winds up being little more than a method for delivering alcohol to the system. At least at £1.40 a half pint it was not expensive. Scroll past to something more interesting unless you absolutely must tick every beer at the local pub.
Aroma / Appearance - The golden brownish head is transparent and flat. Smelling like polished maple floors it is fairly mild. The hops and malts peek through at times but this is nothing like the best examples of the style.
Flavor / Palate - Maple and almonds sweeten the palate. Walnuts carry into a semi-dry transitional period. The creamy texture sticks in the mouth. Caramel cream wraps up a finish that feels uninspired. This isn’t the most terrible golden ale but neither does it have the impact of the best releases.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants BF. A light golden coloured beer with a tart fruity hop note throughout with notes of gooseberry and elderflower. Bitter in the mouth in a Bohemian way. Quite tasty.

Cask, gravity, at Northamptonshire Beer Festival ’09. The pun on Hope and Glory has been done before. Perhaps brewers should check their jokes for originality. pale gold. Delicate floral aroma. A Mes rate: gravicask at GBBF.
Mid gold with a slight haze and a thin white head. Run of the mill fruity caramel malt and some reasonable grassy hoppage. Earthy notes in the finish add some interest but it’s really one dimensional overall.
