On tap at the Spitalkeller. Hazy yellow, rocky head. Weissbier mouth feel. Banana, bubble gum, yet there is a nice hoppy edge to this, not only adding lemon, but also some dryness. Decent.

Piepenhenrich (1228) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 2, 2017
A good Hefeweizen, fresh, well-balanced wheaty and fruity flavors. I would say it ranks somewhere upper mid-range compared to its peers.

vipinvelp (4540) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2017
Golden yellow, white lacing foam head. Nice citrus aroma and taste. Great beer with this heat. (Regensburg 201705)

TEJA (3256) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 10, 2017
Sampled at Spital Garten, Regensburg. OK white head. Very cloudy golden color. Big and clean banana aroma. The banana taste is more balanced with wheat maltiness.

Bamsen78 (5561) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2016
Bottle. Pours hazy straw with stable white head. Clear aroma of grain, yeast and banana. Sweetish flavour of malt and yeast, with notes of banana and touches of hops and grain. Sourish, grainy aftertaste. Slightly acidic and estery aftertaste. Okay.

Bottle, 5.2% as Spital Weizen. Citric and yeasty aroma, lots of banana. Cloudy greyish yellow colour. Big stable white head. The flavour has a lot of banana and a weak burnt plastic note. Then comes some lemon peel and a good yeasty note, like quite fresh white bread. Refreshing and quite clean.

JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - OCT 11, 2015
Draught Very good dense light yellowish head over fully hazy orange-yellow beer. Clove, fruitesters (some banana, some citrus), but clove/allspice is all-dominant. Light acidity, much wheat underneath, grainy. Babyfood mash. Warming up, more banana. Wheatslickness & yeastfill, good body, very carbonated. Clove is a tad too dominant, but the finish brings it all together well.

Reconqvista (339) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAR 19, 2015
Cloudy dark gold color with a very nice white head lasting properly. Strong wheat malt aroma with some apricot notes. Flavor is malty, sweet and slightly fruity. Body is sticky with a long end. Carbonation is very balanced.

On tap (0.5 l) at the brewpub in Regensburg... Nice naturtrüb clody orange color, good head... Tasteful natural aromas of organic oranges, some week banana aftertaste... Interesting refreshing Weizen taste...

50cl bottle (5.2% abv) @ Timo A.
Pours hazy yellow color with a medium sized head. Quite spicy on the nose, wheat, some citric fruits, not so much banana, quite aggressive. Pleasant fruity flavor, some yeast, wheat and mild toffee notes. A good palate cleanser.

My Bottom Line:
Apples, bananas and cloves converge on soft wheat in this effervescent Weissbier.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond-beige.
-High carbonation alleviates the sweetness.
-The apple-like fruitiness was surprising. Not sure it’s what I prefer in this type of brew, but it does add a different touch.
-This was nicely drinkable and personable.

At Spitalgarten.
