Thoughts.... tart, herbal, ginger ale, mint, grass, wildflowers, honey, bread dough. Tastes exactly like it smells and smells exactly like it tastes . Odd, but not necessarily in a bad way. I imagine peasantry in medieval northern Europe drinking this... then caving in some skulls with big assed clubs on their raping and pillaging merry way.

Purchased at West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at a friends birthday party. Didn’t take tasting notes, but remember this one being overly tart, like drinking straight grapefruit juice. At first I hated it, then I started warming up to it like I would any other alcoholic beverage. Wouldn’t have it again.

Bottle poured into a snifter. From notes. Loads of lemon citrus and a little tart funk. Very good.

Bottle, shared around the table at Revolution Brewpub. Hazy deep orange with minimal had formation that fades quickly to nothing. Earthy vegetal aroma, Dan thought of beets, but that’s not where I’d place it, rooty for sure though. Lemony tart palate, lightly sour with earthy undertones. Dry, quick finish. Profound disconnect between nose and flavour-- very cool, interesting, and ultimately very enjoyable.

Bottle @ RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Sort of sour and lemony. Lots of tea, pine, and ginger. Maybe some thyme? Green grapes, too. Flavor is also fairly sour. Lots of lemon and green grape. Some spicy ginger and a fair amount of herbs. A bit grassy and slightly woody. Not bad.

Draft. Hazed orange pour, spices in the nose, flavor is spicy with grapefruit and a gin-like quality, though it is light and easy to drink. Masterful gruit.

Interesting non hop beer. Tastes like a gluten free beer, but one of the better ones I have had. Lemony malty and sweet had out of a bomber at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gruits typically suck but this OK so I say it is not really a gruit. It is cloudy orange w/ a fine-bubbled ring of head. It is a bit vegetal w/ some citrus and floral notes in the nose. It is unexpectedly tart and pretty crisp and drinkable w/ herbal bitterness in the finish.

Shared at RBSG 2014. Thanks frank. Nose is citrus with a tartness to it. Hazy orange. Taste is slightly citrus with a funkiness to it and moderately acetic. Not bad for a gruit.
