Bottle @ Stokerij, Balegem. Sweet and malty, harsh bitterness. Typical "Van Steenberge" character. Not bad, nothing excepional.

Best Before 2004. Pours unclear, between blonde and brown. muddy, and appears to be wattery. Small white head. Smell is oxidized. taste is sharp, rather bitter. madeira, very well aged, this one. Mild malty back. Ok mouthfeel, still, as well as a perfect carbo. Nice

23/IX/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Cambrinus (Brugge) - BB: 23/VI/13 (2012-1071)

Clear dark blond beer, aery white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sweet, honey, bit yeasty, cheese, sweet malts, smells pretty aged already. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: carbon sour, bit of sugar, yeasty, honey, sweet malts, orange peel, Mandarin Napoleon, some cardboard. Aftertaste: sweet, orange peel, little bitter yeasty, some yoghurt, Madeira, cardboard, some cork. Has clearly aged for a while, despite still being 1 year before expiration date.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet and slightly bready malty aroma with a distinctively oxidised Madeira-like touch, accompanied by a tinge of candied fruits. Moderately sweet flavour with a light level of sourness, medium bodied with a calm, if not flat carbonation. Bready (cara-)malty taste with notes of brioche and a lighter fruity touch; mildly sweet and slightly sourish fruity finish. Something different but I have to admit that I am not a fan of this brew. 05.VI.11

Bottle. [thank you, Yespr]
Pours clear pale golden with a big, frothy, yellowish head. Mild aroma, yeast, sweet, biscuity malts and light lime. Lowish carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Flavour is weirdly sharp, soft malty, yeast. Kinda weird, but hides the alcohol well.
