bottle. murky deep copper beer with a small head. big caramel and oak nose. toasted bread, burnt caramel, a bit of smoke, charred oak barrel, toasted marshmallow flavors. syrupy, rich, full bodied palate. its a nice robust beer.

Nothing special. Poured a very mirky brown with a minamal head that dissipated quickly. Aroma had a few notes with bourbon, wet wood, ash and some malt. On the tongue you get sweet malt followed by some bourbon and finishing with a smoked dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium with a little too much carbonation.

On tap as a vintage BA scotch ale. This fucking blows. Sweet as it can be, burnt rubber. flat, disgusting.

Strong aroma has a fruity and vaguely fishy overtone, with notes of malt and yeast. Pours a clear dark sepia with a nice wheat head. Flavor has firm fruity - pear with a little banana and apple - malty and cloves notes, and, hello, quite an alcohol bite. Well it is 10% ABV. Texture has decent fizz and thickness - and a serious alcohol edge. Overall, edgy and lively, decent flavor.

22oz bottle. Clear, copper color, light tan fizz. Aroma of old malt, vanilla, definitely oak in the nose. Butter toffee flavor, sweet malt. Tastes old, oxidation flavors. Pretty strong. (3599)

Bottle shared by rschnake...thanks Rob! - Pours clear amber with a ring of white head. Nose is lightly smoky malt, with a big breay maltiness, and a little yeast.Taste is the same, with a bit more smokiness and a bit of a rubber taste to it. Thin body with ample carbonation. Interesting.

Brown pour, light brown head. Aroma is all barrel, vanilla, bourbon, oak, light peat and something a bit tart. Flavor again is all barrel. Maybe too much contact time? A hint of something tart/vegetal in the finish. I didnt enjoy this.

Poured from a 1 liter flip top. Large tart nose, fruity, caramel, some bready notes, some nail polish. Very interesting, this beer really grew on me.

Fantastic. I love their Scotch ale to begin with, add in some bourbon flavor/aroma and a nice burn.... superb.
