Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of wheat, carmel and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, carmel and light spice with a crisp lingering carmel finish. crossovert (14134) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 30, 2015
Draft. Amber brown pour. Its pretty decent for the style, spices and roasted malt, easy drinking, not complex but good. deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 3, 2009
Bottle from a beer of the month club. Poured a clear dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma was weak with some roasted malts. Flavor seemed to be quite watery. I picked up some sweet roasted malts, but not much else. blipp (9904) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 22, 2014
Bottle. Pours a dull hazed golden amber, with an off white head. Muted sweet malts, wheat, spicy weizen yeasty notes, and a relatively dry finish. Not awful, but falls a little flat based on my expectations for this brewery. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - APR 18, 2010
4/19/10. 12oz bottle (when did they start this? I toured the place a bit back and they had a 16oz bottling line?) courtesy Cavie poured into a pint glass. The pour is cloudy amber with a small off-white head that disappears fast. The aroma is banana and bubblegum with some caramel malt. The flavor is relatively bland with some of the same aroma but with soft wheat, hard water, and bitter roasted malts. Not terrible, not great.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark nut brown color with a small khaki head. The aroma was somewhat faint dry, nutty malts with traces of banana and clove. The flavor was tart, tangy and a little bitter with light banana, clove and bubblegum. Medium length finish that turns a bit dry. Medium full body. Decent. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 5, 2010
Bottled. Poured clear, medium reddish-brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sour, vinegary-wheat notes and lemon zest first and foremost over toasted caramel, toffee, and nutty sugars.. almost like cleanser as it warmed up. The flavor was better, but not by a whole lot.. caramel, toffee, and light dry-roasted chocolate at the core with tart wheat and a faint hint of orange around.. finished tart and fruity. Light-bodied and dry on the palate.. kind of a vinegary impression.. didn’t feel good or flow well. dmac (6577) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2010
12 oz bottle from a coworker. Poured a muddy milk chocolate brown with a smaller off white slightly foamy head. Aroma was pretty good at first, grassy, wheat, chocolate and bubblegum. However once this one started warming even slightly some sour milk and old cheese notes started creeping in. The body was pleasant, fuller and creamy with lively carbonation. The flavor was bad to say the least....wet grass, spoiled chocolate, bad cheese and other various spoiled bad items. Ugh, why is this in a beer of the month club when this shouldn’t even be the beer of the minute. nuplastikk (6512) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 1, 2011
Draft at Old Fashioned. Thick, opaque burgundy brown, with a steady off-white head. Malty and rich, maybe a tad thicker than medium bodied. Some mild banana yeast tones under the smooth dark malts. Mellow and fairly enjoyable, this still can’t touch a good German example. Still a decent enough beer from Sprecher, no off flavors. JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - DEC 3, 2009
Brown color with a light tan head. Just a drip or two of yeast after the final pour. Dark caramel, banana and toasted wheat bread in the aromas. Light, nearly watery feel. Sweet start with come caramelized sugar. Toasted wheat and hints of light bitter spice. No big melanoidins, and lacks some phenols. Some iron in the finish and into the linger.
