Pours s very dark brown with a smallish light tan head. Aroma is lightly sweet roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Flavor has a sweet grain quality, coffee and bitter chocolate. Finishes somewhat long and bitter. Medium bodied, thin texture. shadey (2148) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 30, 2008
1 Pint Bottle purchased at Beers of the World in Henrietta. It’s about time they brought Sprecher back to NY!!JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 28, 2008
Its nice to have a bottle that fills my Great Lakes pint glass. The pour is a nice matte black with a head that quickly diminishes to a ring of dark tan cream. The aroma is a nice roasty/toasty smell that is easy on the nostrils. The flavors add layers of caramel, toffee, and cream that are really very pleasant. This is a well done stout.
Creamy aroma with roasted barley sits above a deep and dark brew. Very little, beige head. Creamy. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate, some caramel, slight coffee. Burnt caramel aftertaste with slight pine. This is pretty good.

Pours black with a good sized light brown head. Aroma of cocoa and caramel, burnt coffee. Bitter coffee and unsweetened chocolate flavors, but I could swear I could taste some piney hops presense as well. Somewhat full bodied. A nice dry stout. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 23, 2008
16oz bottle. Dark brown with little to no head. Mild smoke, coffee, roasted malts. Semi-thin mouthfeel with roasted malts and a hint of chocolate and some fruity notes to it. A little miscast as a dry stout. Petrucci914 (910) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 22, 2008
Pours a dark black with a medium mocha head. Aroma is roasts, chocolate, and some chocolate sweetness. Taste is dry coffee roasts and chocolate. Well done and enjoyable. estoppel (1028) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 21, 2008
Bottle. Black body, tan head, roasty nose. Roasty notes, coffee/chocolate, excessive sweetness for the style. Still pretty tasty. jebert (500) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2008
Pours a opaque dark black/brown color with a creamy tan head of foam mostly lasting. Aroma is of carmel, coffee and dark chocolate. Texture is very smooth and creamy. Carmel roasted malt flavor with coffee overtones. Excellent crisp finish. Very enjoyable stout, stands up well to the original stouts brewed on the Emerald Isle. Pairs well with corn beef sandwiches and cabbage.
