Aroma: Has a moderate roasty smell to it, sweet chocolate and caramel malts come through. Accidentally dipped my nose into the glass.
Appearance: The beer is a very dark brown/black; not quite completely black, but close. A decently full and thick light brown head tops the pour.
Taste: The head has got a little bit of staying power to it which is nice and malty on its own. The beer itself only lightly bitter, with solid flavors of roasted barley and coffee with slightly fainter chocolate and caramel notes.
Palate: The beer has a moderately full body and, as I expect from the style, a nice smooth quality to it. Very easy to drink.
Overall: A very respectable dry stout. It’ll be in my St. Patrick’s day rotation, methinks.
Pours opaque dark brown: tan, fine laced head. Aroma is part slightly sour beer hall, part roasted malt. Flavor follows aroma, more emphasis on the roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, a bit of ash. Bottle (labeled as Stout). Black color with thin tan head and no lacing. Smoke aroma. Malt with smoke, chocolate, and coffee notes. Watery body and thin mouthfeel. Long finish.

Appearance: Dark black body with a thin khaki head.
Aroma: I get the slight scent of alcohol followed by an acrid roasted scent. A hint of burnt caramel follows.
Taste: It doesn’t have an overpowering roasted flavor but it is fairly strong. The aftertaste of burnt caramel lingers on the palate. A bit of alcohol in there as well.
Palate: It isn’t quite as dry feeling as I would expect from a Dry Stout. It’s a bit sticky and thick.
O: Overall I was not very impressed by the beer. It was not dry as it should have been, and for a beer at 5.7% (from label) the alcohol just came through too much. The roast flavor is good, but it’s just not a very clean beer.

Black. Small but lasting beige head, some drippy lace. Aroma is roasty, bittersweet, chocolate, bit of coffee. Flavor is much the same but the roasted malt backs down a little and gives way for more hop character. Flavor is Medium body. Finish is short, dry, light bitterness. Solid beer.
