Quite sweet and lush bodied for a "dry" stout. Roasty and slightly chocolatey. Enjoyable, but nothing outstanding. Mangino (1027) - Mississippi, USA - MAR 19, 2005
Pours an almost pitch black. Small quickly dissipating brown head. Aroma is milk chocolate, grass and hops. Flavor is slightly dry, and smoky. Lactose/cream body with a dry coffee like finish. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAR 23, 2005
Bottle: Deep brown with an initial fizzy tan head which reduced to a fine ring and good lace. The aroma has notes of burnt and toasted malts, coffee, mocha, grassy and herbal hops, and prune. The taste starts bittersweet with a heavy dose of coffee like bitterness upon the finish. A bit lactic and fruity twang makes it interesting. A solid dry stout. Not very dry for a dry stout but good flavor. Chocolste and coffee. Medium all the way through. Good beer but doesn’t fit the discription. Cornfield (5570) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2006
Black body with a decent brown head. The aroma is roasted barley with a splash of chocolate. More to the flavor. Roasted barley, sweet malt, chocolate, coffee, and a mild nutty bitterness. Sweet but dry finish. Nice.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very dark ruby-brown with an average size diminishing light brown head. Aroma of slightly burnt caramel, chocolate, a hint of smoke and some herbal hops. Slightly watery flavour of lightly roasted malt, dark fruit and chocolate. Medium bodied. A pretty good Dry Stout. DerBiermeister (586) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - JAN 20, 2010
Slightly hearty aroma. Looks black and very opaque. Tastes of burnt malts? Slightly reminiscent of Guinness, though much thinner. Not too much of a palate - just good Irish (style) hearth and goodness. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 28, 2011
I was surprised how swet this was for and Irish Stout. Lots of typical coffee and chocolate, plus some vanilla, but also not nearly as dry as I was expecting when I hear Irish Stout. Still tasty, though.
