16oz. bottle to pint glass. Pours black with small beige head that laces well. I get malt and a little coffee. taste is sweet with bread, malt, chocolate and coffee with a coffee-like bitter finish that has a dry aftertaste. Fairly creamy with balance carbonation. Pretty solid stout.
Pours opaque dark brown: tan, fine laced head. Aroma is part slightly sour beer hall, part roasted malt. Flavor follows aroma, more emphasis on the roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, a bit of ash. Palate is light at first, finishing dry with a lingering thread of sweet. Overall, a decent session Irish style. drdisque (877) - Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Boring typical Irish style stout, lacking the creaminess of its more popular competitors, is more roasty and watery. Not recommended. shrubber85 (11582) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUL 9, 2015
Draft. Wood ash, coffee, and chocolate malt aroma. Black with moderate tan head. Sweet coffee, chocolate, malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay/ash flavor. Nice body. Very good. Carlisle (788) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Bottle (labeled as Stout). Black color with thin tan head and no lacing. Smoke aroma. Malt with smoke, chocolate, and coffee notes. Watery body and thin mouthfeel. Long finish.

Appearance: Dark black body with a thin khaki head.
Aroma: I get the slight scent of alcohol followed by an acrid roasted scent. A hint of burnt caramel follows.
Taste: It doesn’t have an overpowering roasted flavor but it is fairly strong. The aftertaste of burnt caramel lingers on the palate. A bit of alcohol in there as well.
Palate: It isn’t quite as dry feeling as I would expect from a Dry Stout. It’s a bit sticky and thick.
O: Overall I was not very impressed by the beer. It was not dry as it should have been, and for a beer at 5.7% (from label) the alcohol just came through too much. The roast flavor is good, but it’s just not a very clean beer.

Decent but not much to it. Pours a warery black with light tan head. Not much arms, just slight chocolate and grain. Taste is watered down chocolate, hints of burnt coffee, and grain. Very light body and medium carbonation. kaser (6367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2013
Jet black pour with rim of brown head. Smells like a chocolate bar. Sweet stout. Malty and coffee finish. Dry. Really good. Had this on draft at the sprecher brewpub in lake Geneva, IL. MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 14, 2013
aroma- a little chocolate, roasty-malt.
Fairly smooth, lighter than expected. malt, roast, slightly dry finish. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - JUL 14, 2013
Black. Small but lasting beige head, some drippy lace. Aroma is roasty, bittersweet, chocolate, bit of coffee. Flavor is much the same but the roasted malt backs down a little and gives way for more hop character. Flavor is Medium body. Finish is short, dry, light bitterness. Solid beer.
