Tap at Bainbridge BH. Beautiful dark mahogany with a short lacing beige head. Supremely fruity nose and in the mouth, lightly sticky with full malt, sticky medium body. Has some cola and root beer / syrupy character. Great Munich with dark caramel and excellent roast [toast], restrained hops, touch earth. Dries but stays sticky. Poured from the bottle into my trusty Samuel Adams glass. The pour produced a clear, caramel-colored body with very minimal foam. Mind you, the bottle was cold, and is currently being enjoyed at 41 degrees, so that might have something to do with the foam. Aroma is subtle, earthy with notes of caramel. The mouthfeel is light, with some malty sweetness, which is overpowered by a metallic aftertaste. Flavor improves as the beer warms, bringing out the sweetness of the malts.

Albany, Ga. - Warehouse Package Store - 16 oz bottle. Slightly murky, medium copper pour, little to no head. Aroma has some children’s vitamins essence, a touch of chocolate. Flavor is slightly mealy, some over-sweet chocolate notes, a bit of molasses, some metallic notes. Mouthfeel is thin and slightly metallic. Had much better from Sprecher. 16 ounce bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 1/10/2012. Pours slightly cloudy reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, light roast, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of dark/toasted malt notes and light hops; with good strength. Taste of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, light roast, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness. Light earthy floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance of malt and hop notes; with decent robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a nice session brown ale.
