Just had a half in wetherspoons in Scarborough found it rather bland & tastless not the best wetherspoons though

tombyars (1790) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JUN 14, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2012. Handpump dispense. Ruby black in colour with a thin creamy buff head. Slight note of mocha coffee in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malts gives a maltloaf base with blackcurrant fruit, liquorice and black coffee flavours. Slight dusty hop note in the short chicory aftertaste. The finish is malty with dry roast coffee flavour lingering in the mouth. A decent session mild.

mike_77 (7274) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2012
Dark brown colour. Both the aroma and flavour are of bittersweet burnt malts and coffee. Texture is a bit on the thin side.

DruncanVeasey (8485) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Couple of post-promotion celebratory pints in The Felix, 13/05/12. Mahogany with a creamy beige lid. Blackcurrant and red apple aroma. Tangy blackcurrant streaks dusted with scraped toast. Ashy afters. Puff of cigar. Very decent.

dynamiteninja (1932) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2012 Cask. The Postern Gate (JDW), York. Medium white head. Black body. Coffee, spice, black malt. Bitter. Dry finish. Good, almost like a Black IPA. 6 3 7 3 12

ManVsBeer (11205) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2012
Crisp mild with a malty nose. Sits well in the glass but is both drinkable and passable.

imdownthepub (15526) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2012
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark Brown with slight cream head. Sweetish malts, some fruitiness like a sweet squash note. Hints of roast chaff with some liquorice. Ok.

kermis (14999) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2012
Half from cask. Clear red brown with creamy off white head. Chocolate roasted aroma. Flavour also with chocolate, roasted malts and some fruit.

deanso (10287) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - APR 15, 2012
On Handpump @ jdw solihull.Decent creamy off white head. Clear deep ruby pour. Smooth finish

Leighton (22823) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 3, 2012
Cask at the Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear brown with a foamy, white head. Dark malt nose with hints of cocoa and dry coffee. Great flavor, lightly sweet with rich, roasted malts, baking cocoa and coffee, almost espresso-like. Light earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more roasty malts, cocoa, some burnt wood, light minerals, burnt grass. An excellent mild. Great depth of character.
