A stunning porter; ominously dark but not heavy, smooth and easy-drinking, with the lingering finish of roasted barley.

Cask at the Queen's Head, Kings Cross, smallish creamy bubbly head, cloudy dark brown color, aroma of cocoa, mud and a bit of dark chocolate, flavor of cocoa and mud with some vanila and coal, light bodied.Nice and sessionable.

Cask gravity at Ales of the Unexpected Margate. Clear dark cola coloured thin tan head. Some roast malt. A little bitterness. Nice enough. Light chocolate. More a dark fruity porter. Dry though. Odd porter. Soft carbonation. Ok plum fruit.

Cask (4%), 1/2 pint by hand-pump at The Blue Blazer, Edinburgh on 27 Nov 2017: coffee, roast malt aroma, near black, thin fawn head, sparse lacing, coffee, roast malt, little bit of smoke, oily, dry bitter malty finish.

BeardedAvenger (1276) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2017
Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Cqn just pick up a malty choc aroma. Dark cola brown. Thin off-white head just rings the inside of the glass. Light bitter with a sour coffee berry edge. Guess the barley comes through. Light bodied. Thin. Flat. Long finish. Pretty watery and bland. Does develop some character into the finish. Porters shouldn't be so boring but at least it's drinkable.

Aroma of roasted malts, woody
Taste of soft roastes malts, woody notes, soft bitter earthy hops, dab of hedgerow fruits, odd slight smoked kippers
Palate - Thin body, light sweet, flat, soft bitter, woody. Finish is dry, as main flavour
Overall - Not great

Cimbasso (1056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2017
Sampled on draught at the John Baird in Muswell Hill. Very dark brown with a loose tan head. Low carbonation. Gentle aromas of roasted malt. Taste is milk chocolate and wood with notes of green apple. Perhaps a hint of liquorice, but quite thin tasting in general. Mouthfeel is also thin. Pleasant for a light porter, but not memorable.

fajry (2325) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - FEB 20, 2017
Cask The Brewery Tap. Cierna farba, hnedá pena. Vona pražené slady, čokoláda, jemne káva, prezreté slivky. Chuť trošku prázdnejšia. Karamelové a pražené slady, kyselkavosť, trpkosť na jazyku. V pozadí kyselkavosť kávy. Vona je super, škoda tej chute.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Almost clear dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Earthy dark malts, mild roast. Mild dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits. Light dry earthy finish. I wasn’t stunned.
