Towey1989 (2836) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2016
Cask at The Leeky Tap, Leek. A clear pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of orange, lemon, some grapefruit, slight straw and subtle floral hops. Taste of orange, lemon, some grapefruit, maybe elderflower, subtle straw and slight floral hops. Light bodied and an oily texture. A bittersweet, citrusy hop bitterness in the finish. A zesty, citrusy golden ale which I kinda enjoyed. Little thin but drinkable. Good.

Taste comprises citric peel, bread dough, grass, airy malts, tangerine. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. Adequate golde.

berkshirejohn (6505) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 20, 2015
Cask at the Stafford Arms, Bagnall, Staffs. A pale amber pour with a thick white head; lemony citrus aroma; sharp grapefruit taste; and a crisp finish. Rather fuller bodied, and with more flavour than most summery golden ales.

4th July 2015: hand-pulled cask pint at The Great Western, Wolverhampton. Another golden beer with a citrus bent. Light golden pour, with a full white crown. Lemon aroma and taste: fed up with them. Scored objectively.

First tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in September 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale gold in colour with a thin white head. Elderflowers give a fragrant note to the short aroma. Thin refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with juicy clemantine fruit and elderflower cordial. Strong hop prickle detected in the dusty, floral, resiny aftertaste. Finish is sweet with warming golden syrup flavours rolling in the mouth. An excellent session Golden Ale and it reminded me of Badger Golden Best in taste. Well recommended.
