Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark golden-orange pour with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Piney hops aroma with notes of malt in the background. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has notes of pine and grainy malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Not necessarily what I would expect out of a "Double Pilsener" but it kind of works. Pretty good overall. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Tap @ Square One. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a white head. Pretty heavy herbal/floral hoppy, grainy malty aroma. Fairly sweet pils malty, straw, herbal, somewhat earthy flavor. The flavor and aroma were really overpowering and off putting to me. phaleslu (10267) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear, bright yellow gold with a small white head and lace. Aroma of crackers, pale malts, grass, hay, and paper. Flavor of pale, sweet, and bready malts, crackers, straw, cereal, and booze. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a malty, boozy mouthfeel. Not bad at all. Draft at the brewpub. Golden, but visually solid even with its little head. Stiff aroma of solid grainy malt. Robustly charactered, there’s a pile of alcoholy warming on top of a big malty base. Burns the belly. A big yellow beer ... nice! (#3021, 7/15/2007) vyvvy (6476) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUL 6, 2007
Pours clear golden with a bone white head. Very faint aroma, I’m only noticing a sweeter version of pils malt. The flavor starts rich and fruity with a light spice kick, some alcohol warmth and only a bit of the traditional pils traits from the malt. The finish has harsh spice and some hops that are more on the earthy / woody side that would be expected. The body is quite cloying. This tastes like the strongest abv beer I’ve had at Square One. An okay beer, but I like others from the brewery better.

Pour is a bright yellow ith a white head. Aroma is some swet pils malts nothing great. Flavor is again more of the sweet malts and not much in the way of hops. Nothing great. #1 of sampled at the brewpub. jandd1983 (4330) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JAN 13, 2014
Sampled at the brewpub. It poured a bright yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of malts and hops. The taste was also similar to the aroma. Nice. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Draft at Square One. Pours a deep gold with a white head. Nose is quite clean, moderate sweetness from pilsner malt. Earthy and herbal/grassy hops. Noted alcohol. On tasting, really bitter. Clean malt, pilsner sweetness and a sharp alcohol note. Clean hop flavor on finish. Pretty dry for the style. Solid. jcnielsen (3412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Sampled on tap at Square One on 01/12. Pours a golden yellow color with white head. Straw, pils, alcohol flavors. Not one of my favorites. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 4, 2007
Tasted 7/23/2007. From the brewpub. Filtered and deep golden hue. Skim white head. Mild nose. Good body and moderate palate. Thick yet smooth. Good light malts. Dry and sticky. Good mix between smooth and dry. Mild yet noticeable burn. Not too bad.
