It poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was malty with some floral hops. The aroma was fruity, malty and some spice flavors. A very decent Dunkelweizen. phaleslu (10750) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 13, 2011
Draft sample at St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival 2011. Pours a cloudy brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma of banana, clove, nuts, chocolate and toasted malts, and a hint of underlying earthy hops. The flavor is spot-on the nose, and follows exactly what you’d expect. Medium-bodied, with a malty, fruity mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Pretty smooth. Nice dunkelweizen, and one of my favorite ’new’ beers of the festival. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - OCT 23, 2010
Sampled at GABF on 9/18/2010. This dunkel pours a light gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of banana and clove. A medium bodied dunkel. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. Nice fairly sweet banana and clove flavor. Clean and crisp. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - APR 13, 2010
One of my favorite beers at Square One. Aroma of banana, clove with a slight smokey quality. Appearance was murky brown with tan head. Flavor matched the nose with some smokey apple cinnamon accents. Palate was creamy. Yum yum. Interested to see how this beer progresses. esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 28, 2010
On tap at Square One Brewpub. Hazy copper with a thin white head. Aroma of clove, fruit, spice and a touch of darker malts. Taste is heavy on the clove and fruit with mild caramel and chocolate and a spicy clove finish. Body is a tad thin, one of their lesser offerings.

Very hazy dark brown. Aroma and flavor are full of malt. Some wheat notes but malt rules here. A bit of chocolate and a bit of fruit. Malt reigns supreme here. Well done. BrewCzar (108) - St Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Draught at Square One Brewery. Cloudy amber to muddy brown. Very small but semi-lacing tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and grassy. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, and banana. Light flavored. Thin palate. BeerandBlues2 (13872) - Escondido, California, USA - JUL 25, 2008
Draught at Square One. Pours hazy tawny with an average, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of date and pear. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. madscotsman (147) - Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA - SEP 3, 2007
On tap - was a deep amber in color with an offwhite head. Had a sweet aroma of chocolate. Had a slight spice in the flavor and a nice balanced finish. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 30, 2007
On tap at Square One. Poured a hazy, deeper ambery-brown with a well-retained cap of creamy beige head. The aroma was of soft caramel and chocolatey sweetness with very little hop of wheat presence.. quite pleasant! Flavor found semi-sweet chocolate and caramel a the core with the wheat present as tart banana-ey notes.. left a mild sourness and tartness along with the caramel and chocolate at the finish.. tasty. Medium-bodied with nice balance, but a bit too grainy at the back.
