COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our second in the series of Single Hopped IPAs. In this series we are keeping the same malt profile and alcohol content the same and only varying the variety of hops used. Mt. Hood hops were developed in the United States in the mid 1990’s in an effort to recreate one of the "Noble Hops" of Germany (Hallertau Mittlefruh), which is slowly dying out and unable to be replanted. As such, it’s not typically known as a bittering hop but grown for its fruity and spicy flavor and aroma characteristics. Fruity and spicy is the best way to describe the flavor of this IPA, which has a pleasant, herbal bitterness and just a hint of caramel malt sweetness in the finish.

Tasted 10/3/11. Pint from the Brewpub. Pours filtered with an orange golden hue. Medium sized ring of moldy off-white head. Aromas of citrus fruit, mild berries and moderate floral notes with hints of oranges and mild pepper. Medium to full bodied with a big astringent bitterness. Flavors of orange and grapefruit rind with a mild spicy quality. Good drinking! The acidity and hops really add to the palate. The malts are mild in comparison, but they add a mild sweet bread aspect to the tart, tangy and bitterness of the hops. Very nicely done. Good bitter sipper!

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 Gladde IPA. Geen opvallende smaak.

Helaas kan ik niet meer noteren als deze rating. Dit komt doordat ik dit biertje te slecht vond om er meer over te kunnen noteren.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy gold with a small white head that leaves a good deal of lace in the glass. Aroma of spicy hops, caramel malts, and tropical fruits. Flavor of oily hops, spice, grapefruit peel, and caramel malts. Simple and straightforward. Medium-bodied, with an oily, coating, bitter mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Definitely a lot different than the Cascade IPA.
