COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Manuka beer was first brewed in 1769 for the sailors of the Voyage of Discovery, lead by Captain Cook to Australia and New Zealand. The fresh Manuka tips for this beer were handpicked by Andrew and Jane Dixon in Golden Bay New Zealand, who started to brew this beer again at the Mountain Inn in 1995. We hope you enjoy the unique qualities of this beer brewed under special license from our friends at the Mussel Inn.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Poured very cloudy. The aroma is apple fruitiness, bread, earthy. The flavor is toasted malts, bread, slight apple. The malts are chewy. There is a slight herbal/woody quality. Not bad for it’s age.

mikey (503) - farmington, Utah, USA - MAR 7, 2012
It pours a very clear ruby/amber color with a moderate sudsy head. The nose is of malt, herbs and coriander. The taste starts with a Tea like bitterness with hints of Lemongrass and ginger. Next comes a malty coriander punch that balances the spices well. The finish has a pronounced herbal/floral bitterness. This a great spice beer. It’s not overpowering and it’s punch isn’t too overwhelming.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of herbs with a little citrus. I get a lot of sage and juniper, as well as some grapefruit and lemon notes. The flavor is extremely dry and extremely herbaceous. I get a lot of sage and rosemary, wit a little bit of toffee malt and some lemons. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

bottle from the super-est. 1/2/11 @ dak’s. pale coppery-ish orange red colored pour with a small off white head. the aroma and flavor are super fruity, peppery spiced, pils-y, perfume, light umami, earthy and candied citrus. the hops on the palate are nearly numbing which give this an incredible quaffability.7/4/7/4/15+

Bottle courtesy of douglas88. Bomber pours dirty brown with copper hues and thin tan head. The aroma is big and perfumy with loads of lavender and flowery notes as well as some honey, herbs and a touch of grainy malts. The taste is similar with big lavender like flowery notes, some honey sweetness and a bit of grainy malts too. If you’re in the mood for a floral-ish beer then this one will do the trick.
