Hop Rising tempts your tongue with a lovely earthy hop nose. Very herbal. The flavor backs up the nose with its herbal hop flavor and toffee malt undertones which finishes nice and dry.

andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Wauwatosa, WI; enjoyed at home while being addicted to the show The Killing. Appearance is a dark gold with a rich white head. Aroma of rich caramel and dirty hops, nice balance. Taste is a bit malty with abundant hop flavor, not the easiest drinker but decent.

Bottle. Thanks to Karen and Thaddeus for bringing this back on their travels. A golden color with a nice tan head. Sweet honey and light fruit aroma. The flavors are sweet and smooth with a light dry hope bite at the finish. An enjoyable DIPA that hides the alcohol well and avoids extreme bitterness.

3.9
mikem409 (2029) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Bottle. Thanks douglas. Pours dark orange with quick fading white head. Sweet orange marmalade aroma. Taste is crisp citrus rind and sweet malt

Phatdog1 (259) - Brentwood, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 22, 2013
12 oz. bottle poured into a perfect pint glass shows a light copper colored liquid. Resiny hop aroma. Thick on the palate, big hit of pine and citrus on the tongue. Sweet in the middle, this brew fades into just a touch hop bitterness on the end with 75 IBU’s. I’m left wanting so much more from this!

3.7
EdInSaltLake (748) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Aroma: Lightly fruity, herbal, with light caramel/sweet malt.
Flavor: Sweet, light caramel malt flavor is dominant; with citrus/generic fruit and spicy hop flavors, and substantial bitterness that comes through more in finish/aftertaste. A tiny bit of alcohol flavor, and warming sensation. In the grey area between IIPA and Barleywine.

4.5
Da314man (17) - LONGMONT, Colorado, USA - JUN 10, 2013
An all-time favorite. Darn near perfect Double IPA. Great hop aroma with great pour and at 9.0% packs just enough punch making you ready to go on a harvest yourself!

3.4
snoworsummer (6076) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2013
From a bottle. Pours clear copper with thin frothy head. Tastes like light sweet hops and oranges. Smells like light floral hops, slightly nutty.

3.6
sonnycheeba (6360) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is caramel and cereal malts, spice, fig, dates, and floral and citrus hops. Flavor is sweet malts forward quickly dominated by hop bitterness with some dried fruit esters; dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
