Can at home. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is spicy alcohol, heavy citrus hops and medium cracker and honey malt. Flavor is heavy citrus hops and moderate bitterness, medium cracker and honey malt, spicy alcohol and a dry finish. Medium-full body and medium carbonation.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a surprisingly clear full amber color with a very large foamy white head that had great retention to go with modest cling and lacing. Its aroma featured grainy and earthy hops scents, along with some citrus tones, and a slight touch of pine. The taste was predominantly bitter and hoppy with grainy and earthy bitter flavors, and only a light touch of citrus. Its body was fairly thick and heavy with strong carbonation and a full mouthfeel and a dry finish with a slight presence of alcohol.

Squatters Hop Rising Double IPA 9% This 72 IBU beer comes fromSalt Lake City though I got it in a make your own mix six pack at Argonaut Liquors in Denver. The color is a bright orange-brass color with a thick beige head that leaves spotty soapy looking lacing behind. An aroma of sweet fruits and resinous pine cones. Full bodied with a fairly round carbonation. The taste is thick sweet malts, hoppy fruits (stone fruits) and woodsy pine. Well balanced and a good example of the style bitter but with enough of a backbone of malts to even things out. Good, I'd try other Squatters beers if I ever see any. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet, almost fruity pebbles. Some soapy notes as well. Lots of pine resin, a decent, not great beer.

Savor 2016: No aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Orange flavor with a subtle hint of nougat. Light body, soft carbonation.

mysticbrew (118) - - JUN 4, 2016
Pours a golden amber with a chalky colored head that has a moderate retention. The aroma is spicy, citrus and malt with a little stone fruit. There is a complex maltiness with a spicy hop flavor. There is a medium body with spicy hop finish that balances the maltiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A good strong IPA plenty of kick to it. Lots of hoppy malty flavor well balanced would recommend.

Solid clear copper pour with a quarter inch beige head. Light aroma with bright citrus, pretty straightforward unfortunately. Carbonation leans soft, creamy mouthfeel, finishes a bit dry. Taste is solid but simple. Floral and piney hops with an appropriately large malt backbone. Good IIPA but not a stand out.
