At the SLC brewpub. Pours a warm orange brown color with a firm, creamy white head. The nose is full of clean toasty malts with a bit of subtle nutty character. The taste starts with lots of crisp, smokey malts, biscuit tones and a good citrusy hop twang. Vanilla, orange peel and a spices lingering towards the finish. The bitter hops meld with a slight malt smokiness into the after taste. Very well balanced and highly drinkable with an ABV of 5.5%. This is a great example of what Oktoberfest biers are all about. douglas88 (9625) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 4, 2009
Another nice beer from Squatters. Available during the 20th anniversary celebrations in 500 ml bottles for in house and big old growler-type bottles for take out. Pours a deep copper color with a massive off-white head. The aroma is sweet caramel, loads of rich fruity and sweet malt notes. The flavor is a very drinkable and fresh mix of sweet caramel, rich malts, light hops and a ton of flavors. A nice full mouthfeel. Extraordinarily drinkable. A great beer. Aroma: Big malt and hops aroma. Citrus with a light biscuit in the nose.
Appearance: Dark Golden in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor: Big malt and hops flavor. Nice citrus and spice flavors.
Palate: Dry Finish, with a Great Mouthfeel.
Overall: Huge Oktoberfest this was a tasty brew. I was so happy to have tried this. My first growler ever was from Squatters like 19 years ago. Thanks Doug.
Clear dark amber pour with a thin white head that has great retention and leaves great lacing. Aroma is full of sweet and nutty cereal malt, some caramel, lots of crusty bread and spicy, planty and floral hops. Flavor is bready, toasty and cereal malt up front, followed by some nutty notes, then spicy and floral hops. Medium body, slightly chewy to creamy feel, medium carbonation. Pretty good stuff, nothing crazy, but above average for the style I’d say.

Small handle accented swing top growler courtesy of douglas88. Pours clear copper with some gold edges and thin white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and a bit of caramel, dates, prunes and yeasty spice. The flavor is much the same with a mix of caramel, dates, plums, apricots and spice. Pretty sweet overall and picking up the standard notes for the style that I can’t always discern.
