COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the biggest beer Squatters Pub Brewery has ever made! A Russian Imperial Stout is one of the most intensely flavored beers a brewer can create. The combination of rich roasted barley, oak, molasses and licorice root combine to create an utterly unique and complex imperial stout experience. We had to mash in twice to get our starting gravity of 27 plato (1.108 specific gravity). We boiled 3.5 hrs to enhance caramelization and used molasses and licorice root at the end of boil. Outer Darkness is aged with oak, has 65 ibu’s and bottle conditioned. We hope you have as much fun drinking it as we did making it. Please share with another and drink wisely.

An aroma of roasty malt, chocolate and coffee with hints of fruits. Black with a dark brown long lasting foam. High sweetness and light-medium bitterness - really great taste. Soft carbonation, creamy texture and full body. Wonderful.

A very decent Russian imperial stout. Super dark, almost more bitter than sweet. Lots of chocolate and coffee.

750 mL bottle from Discount Beverage, 12/9/16. Near black, thin head. Aroma of roasted malts, molasses, chocolate, nuts, herbal hops. The taste is milk and dark chocolate, herbal hops, roasted, molasses, burnt sugar, hints of cherry. Slick, medium-full bodied, mild booze. Quite nice.

On tap at the Public House. Wow, so much going on, heaps of chocolate, a bit of liquorice, definitely a sipper but so worth it.

#500. Bottle bought at Squatters in 2013. The aroma is malt, raisin/dates, some caramel. Pours dark brown, almost black with big creamy/frothy head and excellent lacing. The taste is bitter, lot of licorice. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. This is meant to drink slowly and it does age very well!

Incredibl, rich black, silky, malty with a molasses sweetness, maybe one of the finest imperial stouts I’ve ever had. This beer is spectacular

Deep inky black with a thin light beige head. Rich super dark nose that’s roasty and black malt grainy with some deep licorice and more black malt. Rich toasty and semisweet flavor that’s grainy and dark and gently smokey and boozy. Semisweet grainy tones to provide the sweetness. Dark and rich.

Bottle. This is a really smooth and burly imperial stout. Big roasted malts and lots of hop bitterness to balance the sweetness. Well done.
