COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Bottle. Nearly black pour, beige head. Creamy, chocolatey aroma. Cocoa and malt in the flavour, simple but tasty. Medium bodied. Nice.

341 ml bottle from Saveur Biere. Thanks to Werckmeister.
Black, oily body, with a medium, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of melting chocolate, toffee, vanilla, coffee, a banana like fruitiness, toast, some dark bread.
Tastes of coffee, spiced bread, dark chocolate, wood, toast, banana notes again, some liquorice.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, roasty, dry, wooden, with coffee, liquorice, some toast, slight spices.

Tasty! Perfectly balanced, very aromatic, but also pretty refreshing to drink for the style. Just the right levels of roastiness and sweetness, with a lot of diversity and some unusual, but perfectly fitting notes, like banana and spices. Outstanding style example, among the best Ive had so far!

Pours black with a thick mocha head. Aroma is rich chocolate, and roasted coffee. Malty, chocolate, coffee, milk and ash flavours. Full bodied and smooth, very nice.

Excellent! I liked everything about this one and found it quite a surprise in every way. I simply wasnt expecting much but it blew me away. Aroma is over the top so I knew it would make my mouth sing...the malt comes through nicely as such a great compliment to the espresso.

Smooth, delicious malt and intensely creamy. This might be the best oatmeal stout I have ever had. I love it.

16 oz can poured. Pours a thick jet black with a blanket of tan foam head and lacing. A both sweet and toasty malt aroma. Flavor is initially on the sweeter side. A good roasted malt, soft spice. A big hit of espresso like bitterness. Thick milk chocolate, and a resting roasted malt late palate. A stout that I feel like I can drink all day. Very tasty. I enjoy the subtle bitterness that sits with this stout. Interesting, and very well made.

Pours almost black, fairly large and lacey mocha head. Toasty aroma of coffee, chocolate, butter tart; noticeable oatmeal presence - very smooth. Taste is creamy dairy, chocolate, coffee flavors; some cherry, brown sugar, slight smoke. Nice hefty body. It isnt particularly unique, its just well made.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is only slightest of red with light source directly behind, otherwise opaque black, with finger-width foamy light brown head with poor retention and minimal sudsy lacing. Aroma is sweet roasted malt like dark fruit with toffee, bakers chocolate, creamy oats and vanilla. Taste is sweet over bitter roasted malt with dark fruit, toffee, molasses, vanilla, bakers chocolate, mild ash. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, smooth texture, average carbonation and lingering finish as taste. Overall, didnt get the long-lasting head nor the espresso, and its a bit thinner than Id like, but this was quite enjoyable just the same.

Pours a dark brown with rich, tan head. Eggy, chocolatey, oatmeal nose. Weak palate and flavor profile. Not sure about the hullabaloo with this brew. Some smokiness in the flavor. Drinks like a Guinness--weak and lifeless.

0,33l bottle at home bought from Saveur Biere. BB 18 March 2020. black color, dark coffee-colored head. smells of yoghurt, light vanilla, spices, caramel, licorice, bit dusty. yoghurt is only for a second noticeable, afterwards some nice sweet vanilla/caramel notes come through. overall nice smell. medium body, light carbonation, rather thin moutfeel (for a stout anyway). tastes of vanilla, licorice, earthy notes, caramel, some ash, some yoghurt notes again, spices. finishes lightly roasty / dry with notes of vanilla, licorice and light yoghurt. overall good stuff, the yoghurt notes are a bit distracting, but not too bad. lacks a bit of body / flavour inbetween, which usually shows with age, but I just got the beers a couple days ago, and it says E2016, which I assume means bottled 2016. anyway, still nicely drinkable, and this comes from someone who does not like vanilla beers.

Looks good: ebony black, frothy light brown head, sticky lacing. Dry aroma has coffee, ash, milk chocolate. Medium body, dry, soft carbonation, bitter roast in finish, bit herbs. Nice one, balanced, good flavors.
