St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery’s flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, grass, toffee, alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (110708)

An amber beer with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is almost nonexisting - what is there is sweetness. The flavor is very dry with notes of coriander, caramel, and spices, though I can’t tell which. The flavor is very artificial.

[email protected] Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppyness and some slight hints of earth. Flavour is quite much the same with some spicyness and acidic citrus fruits.

Bottle at the Faculty Club, University of Toronto, courtesy of MSF. Deep orange brown, with a small white head and great lacing. Aroma of pine nuts and orange peel. Bitter taste with a background of orange and coriander, with a bittersweet finish. Nice body. Very drinkable.

Bottled, thanks Rastacouere Deep golden. Aroma of fruit and hay. Fairly sweet with buttery, dense malt character and balanced bitterness. Solid and enjoyable.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2007
(Bottle 34,1 cl) Courtesy of Sammy. Clear, amber golden with a handsome, dense, off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of malt and a whiff of metal. Medium-bodied, lightly sweetish malt with a touch of caramel and a dry, lightly hoppy finish. Solid craftmanship without being overly sophisticated. 310807

Leicht trübes bersteinfarbenes Bier mit ordentlicher weißer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht hopfig, reife Früchte. Geschmack nach reifen Obst, leicht hopfig bitter.

Light amber color. The (delicate) hoppy aroma is also perfumy. The body is medium, not very malty, with just some malt/caramel flavor, a bit metallic at the end.

Nice head. Nice hop aroma. Very nice hop taste, not too much dry, very pleasant to drink. Also well hopped final, strong and aromatic.
