St-Ambroise Scotch Ale is dark ruby red with a tawny head – sweet and malty, with hints of vanilla and butterscotch, and a log hop finish. With it’s 7.5% alcool, this beer evokes the classic “wee heavies” or the full-bodied 90-shilling strong winter ales of Scotland. Enjoy a glass of St‑Ambroise Scotch Ale and celebrate over 400 years of Scottish heritage in Canada. Slàinte Mhòr!

Easy to drink.. One of the most accessible scotch ales I’ve had in recent memory. Probably one of my favorites from McAuslan - tied with the Maple Ale.

Deep hazy dark brown color with a copper hue, with powerful glass clinging activity. Slightly creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with a good amount of legs. Aromas of molasses, toffee, and dark fruits. Flavors of dark berries, ester fruits, grapes, walnuts, faint metal, herbal spices. Highly boozy and sugary with an earthy and oaky taste. Slick full body with a perfect amount of carbonation. Medium to high strength finish of short length, ending with a woody smoky feel and a highly sweet fruity/caramel feel. Overall very good quality craft: tasty flavors with good balance and intensity, boozy and vinous while fresh. The finish if a little off though. Missing some character.

On tap at McKibbins in the West Island. Pouring a pretty mahogany brown with a peppery dark malt aroma. Balanced caramel and lightly bitter flavor made for a decent sipper.

A well made beer, clean and mild scotch flavour. A good introduction to the masses for a scotch ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This scotch ale smell is close to burned caramel. The dark ruby look is appealing. The taste is close to resin and burnt caramel. Nice to drink with the sunset. Cheers!

Red amber in colour with a thin white head. Aroma of oak, and a sweet taste of caramel and oak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
