[Cask at GBBF 2005] A red-brown beer with a dense creamy brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with light notes of chocolate, while the flavor besides the sweet rostyness contains light notes of metal and lemon, and leads to a dry bitter end. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2008

Cask at The Market Porter, London. Pours deep brown with a small, off-white head. Living up to its name, this beer’s character is mild. Some pleasant dough notes, light butter, bread. Very subtle fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Perfectly acceptable. chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2004
Deep red colour - not entirely opaque. Like the Hambleton Nightmare we had before it, Duff and I were not entirely sure what style of beer this was intended to be. In the end we plumped for a mild, which concurs with the style given here. However, it’s quite a "big" mild with quite a lot of woody oak character, with some fruit in the flavour too and a dry finish. Not bad. I’m not sure what anyone would find "sinister" about it though.
