Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley.
Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

Pint draft @ The Black Friar
Floral and lightly fruity in both the aroma and the taste. It is somewhat bitter and definitely hoppy. A medium long finish with some dough towards the end. A typical English ale with extra hops.

The beer has quite a nice look. Golden yellow/amber blend. Its quite clear. There is a nice rough white foam on top of the beer, of which the bulk collapses quickly leaving a nice drape. The smell is nice. There is a nice alcohol aroma, quite strong. Also there nice malt aroma. Besides this there are some nice fresh hops with nice citrusy aromas and aromas of summery fruits. It reminds me of some Dutch saisons. The same goes for the taste. Nice alcoholy stinginess and warmth. Besides this there are some hoppy citrus flavours. It sure has a saison like touch. There is a nice balance between sweetness, bitterness and sourness. Maybe its a tiny bit out of balance towards the sour side. Quite a nice beer though.

[email protected] Had this many times. Pours light golden with tight lazing offwhite head. Aroma has light malt, bread, biscuit and hops with grass and straw. Taste is light malty with bread, biscuit and slight notes of toffee and is hoppy with grass, hay and notes of resin. Finish is balanced sweet, malty and bitter.

Cask ale by gravity at Dolphin Hotel. Naked surface, dotted spots on the glass, clear copper coloured body. Rich brown malty aroma joined by fruity hops. Caramel flavours, nicely roasted, supported by dark fruit and leafy hops towards the ending. Natural soft carbonated. Good beer drinking (Plymouth 22.09.2016).

Tap at Samo Pivo pub in Belgrade-Serbia. It was on tap and I think I should rate under cask rather than bottle (?). Semi-clear deep golden pour, tick creamy foam. Nose: pungent notes of lime, lemon skin, tons of lemon grass and some herb (oregano). Mouth: frizzy carbonation close to prosecco, a bit sessional (watery) with an even more frizzy mineral pepper-like finish (and bitter too). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
