Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley.
Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

Golden colour with nice white head. Floral hop aroma. Taste is dry hops, bitter but nicely balanced so isn't a massive hop bomb. It's very nice, good for a hot day! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My Bottom Line:
A delicately citrusy, floral hop perfume wades within this IPA’s bubbly mouthfeel before suggesting pine needles in the finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty pale golden.
-The nose is a tad soapy.
-The dryness is quenching, especially for an IPA.
-In North America, this would be considered a very mellow IPA.
-The citrusy character is redolent of lemongrass at times.
-The pine-y finish is mildly bitter.

Cask at Cockey Pub, Århus. Almost clear golden with a quickly diminishing white head and low carbonation. Very restrained and smooth British in aroma as well as taste. Floral hoppy. Caramel malty. A little thin. Slightly bland, but high drinkabillity. OK bitter finish.

Very refreshing and easy to drink. Not too bitter, tastes like a standard bitter in many ways. Sweet and malty.

Cask at pump house, Brighton
Slightly hazy burnished gold, tight white head with pleasing cascade citrus and dusty fields of barley on the nose. Medium bodied, light carbonation, pleasing dry bitterness balances butter shortbread malt for a long lightly pithy finish. Top stuff.
