Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley.
Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

Cask. Amber with a white head. Some quite nice caramel notes underlying a citrus finish. Quite sweet really. Nice and drinkable, but lacking in character.

Cask in the Hole in the Wall, Bodmin. Golden with some white froth. Quite light and refreshing. Reasonably hoppy with some pineapple and grapefruit notes. Pretty decent.

Cask at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is honey fruit citrus. The flavour is medium bitter with an earthy, sweet fruit hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a light smooth fruit bitter finish. Compared to the bottled version there is less hops and a whole lot more fruit. Very drinkable.

From cask at Castle Tavern, Inverness. Clear golden, uneven off-white head. Aroma and taste of citrus zest and lime marmelade. Bitter grape fruit and lemon in aftertaste. Good drinkability. A drinkable bastard between an English Pale Ale, a very moderate American IPA and a Golden Ale.

Not sure Id class this as an American Pale Ale. For me its a very hoppy English ale. Anyway, thats just semantics. Its good. Im assuming there are some American hops in there as its notably citrusy. Smooth (from cask) and goes down very easily.

[email protected] longhorns, walsall. Golden amber beer with small head and good lacing. Aroma is malty. Taste is malts, dry and some citrus. This is another of yhem uncommon occasions when the bottle is better than cask. Ver disappointing.

Mild nutty aroma. Smells like sleeping hamsters. Golden amber in appearance. Quite fruity and leaves a hoppy taste at the back of the throat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the first ales I really enjoyed. Good times! Refreshing and rather moorish. Yum.
