Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley.
Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

From cask at Charlies. Pours cloudy orange wth a bubbly white head. Orange and towards grapefruity hops aroma. Very fruity hops flavoured, a bit flat even for a cask. Mild caramel malt base but dominantly orange/citrus fruity flavoured. Mild earthy touch, vague though. Bitter and fruity finish, quite dry into the far finish.

Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, sturdy foam head. Looks great. Zesty lemon, straw and fine dough in the nose. Nearly perfect flavor, light to medium sweet with sun-kissed straw bitterness, light dough, mild citrus. Wonderful balance. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Superb condition. Sweet finish with mild dryness, light lemon zest and rind, faint grass, straw, modest dough. Here, now, this beer is near perfect stuff.
