light shows a deep reddish mahogany coloring that is beautiful. And incredibly frothy, four-finger head takes it’s sweet time dissipating. Lacing is prevalent and thick.
Wow. Figs, raisins, cherries hit on the very tip of the nose but quickly becomes a strong rum soaked scent. There’s a sweet bread character lurking in the background. Very sweet overall and almost wine like. Phenols are blossoming left and right. Extremely complex and heavy on the nose.
The sweet raisin and fig notes carry well on the front of the tongue and they dominate the top of the palate. The a strong sweet bread character on the center of the tongue that starts to blossom in warming alcohol at the end. The sugar shines on the center but doesn’t carry to powerfully to not let the bread character shine. I’m impressed by the alcohol lightness.
Very, very carbonated and I think that helps the flavors move better than the would otherwise. Things could be quite strong without the powerful carbonation and it makes sense here.
A wonderful example of the Quad as a style and a new favorite. The complex flavors here are wonderful and this is something I could sip on many nights.

Poured a beautiful gold-brown with a rich head that settled down after a few minutes but remained throughout as a fine layer.
The smell was fruity with plum notes taking center stage but it was more of a subtle aroma than I expected.
The taste is a mix of fruit, more of the plum and some banana with a faint clove presence. Yum. This is wonderfully balanced brew that does a nice job of warming *and* doesn't let the alcohol interfere with the flavours' symphonic melody. Tis a fine example of a Belgian Quadrupel. slire (8) - - OCT 15, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 Был слишком пьян чтоб запомнить подробности вкуса. каких-то ярких запоминающихся оттенков вроде не было. надо ещё раз попробовать jaydangordon (1) - - OCT 14, 2017 does not count

Big Belgian yeast, raspberry marzipan, cherry yoghurt, big red fruit compote, strawberry jam, light sherry, light spices, light tartness, bread dough, biscuity malt, dark fruits esp. dates. UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 Sød og karamelagtig aroma. Også gær og malt i næsen.
Fuld krop - alkoholen blusser op i munden.
Maltet, gæret og sød.

Bottle at Strawberry Thief, Bristol. Pours clear sherry in color with a short lived ivory head. Aroma is very fruity, cherry and strawberry compote plus alcohol. Taste is cherry, compote and alcohol. Full-bodied, heavy, very warming, alcohol is quite subtle for a 10% beer. Decent brew, but not for me.
Bachvarov (13) - BULGARIA - OCT 6, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 6, 2017 Dark color. When you pour the beer in the glass you can see the sludge. In the aroma there is a hop and honey. The taste is light. Aftertaste goes away very fast. La trappe quadrupel is better. kamanova_boy (359) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - OCT 4, 2017
Bottle at La Putika. Dark brown colour with small soapy head, aroma of dark fruit, grapes. Taste of dark fruits, bit tart, alcoholic, with bitter finish. MatiF96 (257) - POLAND - OCT 2, 2017
W aromacie sporo ciemnych owoców typowych dla quadów. Jest winność, fenole. W smaku podobnie, mamy tu rodzynki, ciemne owoce, nuty wina. Jest trochę słodyczy, ale na finiszu pojawia się lekka goryczka, pojawia się również nuta alkoholowa, ale delikatna, rozgrzewa w przełyku. Wysycenie wysokie. Ciało średnie do wysokiego. Całość ładnie ułozona, alkohol nie przeszkadza. Bardzo fajny klasyczny quadrupel
