Luneylane (203) - Taipei City, TAIWAN - AUG 2, 2017
A bottle at the Cafe Bastille. Aroma: citrus fruits and bread. Appearance: hazy light amber, head dissipates to nothing. Palate: full-bodied yet rather thin in texture, average carbonation, long and complex, predominantly sour finish. Taste: medium sour, well-balanced, sherbet lemon and honey flavours at the finish. Very refreshing.

Marstonlad (908) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 31, 2017
Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours cloudy golden with a big, well lasting head. The aroma grainy, wheaty maltiness with solid presences of spiciness and fresh fruitiness. Taste is light sweet, displaying predominantly fruity and wheaty flavours with some spiciness supporting; nicely yeasty but still very fresh and easily drinkable. The palate is medium-bodied, very smooth and average in carbonation. Quality wit: delightfully full mouthfeel meets fresh fruity and wheaty aromas.

0,33cl bottle. It’s a great Belgian white, but from the great brewers of Bernadus I expected a little bit more.

Bottle - Cloudy lemon / orange with small white head. Orange aroma. Small tang on tongue and in mouth. Ok orange tasting. Not best wit by a long way - bit disappointing.

Ritzn (1534) - GERMANY - JUL 17, 2017
Hazy yellow with minimal white head. Aroma is typical wet yeasts and slight spices. Ver smooth. Taste is flat sour juice. A hint of spicyness in the finish. Just a normal wit.

rodsquad (264) - Aberdeen, SCOTLAND - JUN 29, 2017
Bottle from Fountainhall Wines. Pours cloudy peachy yellow with a thin white head. Nose has spice first and foremost then fruit with apple and citrus peel. There’s a sweet syrup and sherbet malt finish. The taste has the tart citrus front followed with pepper over a sweet malt base. The palate is soft leaving a little oil on the lips. It has a sharp moderate carbonation. The sharp citrus, dry spice and sweet malt canvas produces a nailed-on and often imitated classic. This is Witbier.

Pours a cloudy light orange with a good, dense and persistent white head. Nice lacing. Aroma has a delicate dough and/or white bread base, overcome by fruity notes (expecially citric, but also peach) and spiciness. Taste follows the aroma closely, with high sweetness (maybe a little on the high end even for the style), a slight hint of refreshing tartness and close to no bitterness. Quite on the verge of ’too sweet’, but still ok. Light bodied with quite high carbonation to bring a slightly creamy but still easy mouthfeel. Overall enjoyable and quite refreshing.
