Many thanks for this retired beer to tderoeck. Thanks Tim. It has rich malt notes with hints of orange peel in flavor. The taste is somewhat sweet with notes of candied and again a little orange and plum with. Caramel malt become more evident back of the tongue, and concedes it a fullness that lasts long in the mouth. Hop bitterness is very nice balanced with respect to its sweetness, and all in all it is a very fine and tasty beer. Personally, I think it is a little too sweet, and I would like a little more pronounced hop bitterness. rosenbergh (11799) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 11, 2015
750 ml bottle.Alengrin (5722) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
Cloudy dark reddish brown colour with a small off-white head.
The aroma is sugar, sweetness, dried fruits, mild alcohol and some malty dryness. The flavour is sweetness, malty dryness, dried fruits, some alcohol and some caramel. Fizzy. Not as great as I expected. Abt 12 is much tastier.
Largely exported Easter beer version of Sint-Bernardus Prior, with moussy, stable, yellowish white head and deep, hazy bronze colour. Aroma of caramel, dried apricots, candied figs, candi sugar, overripe pear, bread, chocolate, some spices. Dark fruity and sweetish onset, soft caramelly maltiness, spiced but in a more restrained way than Sint-Bernardus Christmas Ale, yeasty, light spicy hop bitterishness in the finish along with warming alcohol. Very good, but I had not expected anything less from this Westvleteren-related brewery. Bart (2936) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 31, 2013
Bottle at ZBF 2013. Darker hazy brown coloured beer with some limited carbonation and a small off white head. Heavy yeasty ripe fruits, dades, caramel noted and alcoholic hinted aroma. Full creamy palate. FInish is again rather heavy, malty and fruity with clear alcoholic hints. Not bad.

ZBF Festival 2013 - Muddy brown appearance. Aroma has caramel and a little spice. Flavour is quite sweet and a bit spicy and peppery. A bit rough around the edges. MrW (741) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - APR 30, 2013
Sample of a 75 cl bottle Paasbier 2012 @ ZBF.
Sweet aromas of dried, caramelised fruits, apricot, prunes.
Dark copper, without a head. I guess the bottled was open for too long or it had been poured really bad. ’cause this looked just like a coke that has been in the sun for too long (without the bees).
Malty hay taste, caramel, dried fruits.
Full mouthfeel with some fizz. Medium long finish with a taste of toast. Medium dry. I liked this beer, but it didn’t look inviting at all. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 17, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2013 75cl bottle. Sample aged 1 year. Shared with Mathieu87.
Appearance: dark beer, white non stable head.
Nose: caramel, burned malts, very sweet, some chocolate.
Taste: very full bodied complex beer. This reminds me of the Abt 12...
