LIVE RATING: Bottle from Craft Beer Co, London on 7th May 2012. Pours reddish brown with a yellowish-white collapsing head and a little lacing. Rich yeasty, cheesy and hoppy aroma. Rich, earthy malts and citrus fruit in-mouth, fresh-baked bread, fruitcake also present. Tangy sweetness in the aftertaste. One to sup and savour. Zingy mouthfeel and fair body albeit a little light for its alcoholic strength.
330ml bottle at a tasting. Pours clear but dark and almost opaque. Almost no head, minimal lacing and no bead. Dark greyish brown in colour. Complex aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, chardonnay, leathery yeast and faint caramel. Smooth in the mouth with some immediate sourness, and bitterness, releasing some fruity wine flavours. 33 cl bottle. creamy tan head. Dark reddish brown color. Lovely caramel malt nose has berry-like notes. Soft, supple dark malt flavor is filled with notes of dried fruit, plums, brown sugar and cola. Aromat owocowy, rodzynki, winigrona, przyprawy, lekkie fenole.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 Pivo u flaši. Ovaj 'Otac Bernard' po punoći nije kao njegov 'Nadstojnik' ali to je sigurno Dubbel koji bi se po meni mogao svidjeti široj publici. Zato što je fino izbalansiran i svi okusi su mu na mjeru! Tako da ga toplo preporučam :)

Really a good beer : nor special nor with a wonderful taste; but a well-balanced aroma and taste, and a beautiful brown colour on top.
We're in front of a good Abbey beer, with some chestnut/cocoa sweet taste (but not to sweet) thanks to the yeast.

Bottle from Super Liquor IV in Ann Arbor. Aroma is raisins, wood, yeast, spice, dry, nice. Appearance is reddish broken, light brown head, opaque. Taste is dark fruit, wood, raisins, figs, roast, super dry, spice, excellent. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, medium carbonation, spritzy but not overly so, dry dark fruit wood spice aftertaste. Bottle from Darts Farm. Pours deep amber with a light beige head. Aroma of candy sugar,toasted fresh bread,caramel spice & fig. Taste of fig,candy Sugar ,caramel ,prune,pepper,pear & fresh bread . Appearance: Pours obscured reddish brown with a lasting creamy off-white head, with good lacing.
Aroma: Malt, banana, citric, bread, nuts, caramel and yeast, with slight notes of grass.
Taste: Toasted malt, caramel, dark fruits, hazelnuts, wood, spices and yeast. Dry malty sourness bitterness flavour with notes of clove, pepper and hops, alcohol fairly well hidden. Dry finish with pepper, spice and hops.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, watery, crispy sharp carbonated.

330ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours hazy brown with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is ripe bananas, chocolate, dried fruits. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, dried fruits, raisins, dark chocolate. Quite highly carbonated and burp-inducing. But all in all extremely tasty. Thank you Belgium.
