Aus der Flasche getrunken. Klares (filtriertes Kellerbier!)

330ml bottle (Captain Corvus, Helsinki)
Caramelly amber colour, way reddier than the RB photo, and a large spongy head, but it’s in a clear glass bottle, which says they don’t care about UV rotting their beers, so an automatic -1 on the look. Aroma is very sweet, a bit papery and stale. Medium watery palate, sweetish slickness, but a pleasant level of carbonation. Taste is papery, stale, dead, oxidised, sweet, and dull. Some fruitiness to the sweetness, but that’s oxidised. Finish has a biting bitterness, a touch metallic, but it can’t bring interest to an otherwise dull sweet beer. This beer would feature on my list of Franconian recommendations, however that would be the recommended list of beers to avoid.

Flasche - Bronzefarben, geringe Schaumkrone. Starker, fast penetranter Karamellgeschmack. Zuviel Caramalz? Süßlich. Kein sehr gutes Zwickel.
