Bottle. Dark ruby brown with a small tan ring. Aroma of toffe, loads of toffee. Some plums, some nuttiness, quite a bit of hops in this one. A little alcohol. A little vinous, some bubblegum esteriness. Pretty damn solid. Loads of burnt sugar and caramel on the tongue, with a solid hop bite in the finish. Well balanced for a barley wine, and since it’s a lighter take on the style compared to the 10+% monsters, it’s actually quite drinkable. Medium bodied, not too heavy. All in all I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Crisp (lol wat), clean but perhaps it lacks a bit in the wow-department. Foffern (1879) - Bodø, NORWAY - MAR 8, 2012
Bottle shared with (and courtesy of) ClubGonzo. Pours a deep and cloudy amber colour with a small beige head that’s a bit like cappuccino head. The aroma consists of dried fruits, hops, chocolate, and alcohol esters. The taste is marked by surprisingly lot of sweet hops, fruit, oak and leather, and appears to be well balanced, medium bitter, smooth, and slightly dry in the end. This is a good barley wine with a fine aroma and taste. Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2012
Draught. Creamy off-white lasting head. Hazy brown body. Sweet fruity caramel vanilla aroma and flavor with low carbonation and a long aftertaste. ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 2, 2012
Bottle (and a very good looking one, as well). Pours a clear nut brown body with a small white head. Nose is light wooden licorice tones with hints of bubblegum and fruity esters. OK. Taste is licorice, caramel, burnt sugar and hints of wood. Filling mouthfeel, medium carbonation. All in all I’d say this is a rather nice barley wine, and probably the best I’ve had from the S:t Eriks series yet. chrisv10 (17440) - DENMARK - FEB 28, 2012

.nice brown woody amber color. A bit of sediment, yeast. Grainy malt on the nose. Some spices. And green hops. Taste is full bodied, a bit bitter, not the normal sweetness usually found in these. Some dry spices, kanel and neilika (se). A nice strong ale with hints of spices, but not overly christmas like. Svesse (8601) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 6, 2012
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Muddy dark brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with rye bread, dried fruit, raisins and a touch of resinous hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, roasted malt, chocolate and a generous, piney bitterness in a fairly vinous finish. More than medium body, slightly sweet. Quite sharp edges, but a tasty and nice beer. HenrikSoegaard (14176) - Randers, DENMARK - FEB 6, 2012
Draught. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter vinius flavor. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.
