Appearance: A deep mahogany brown beer. A high tan head with good lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting sweet dark bread, dark chocolate, coffee and bitter orange marmalade.
Palate: Medium carbonation, a soft texture. A medium body with a slight dry finish.
Overall: Well, I have a cold, but in spite of that there was good aroma and taste in this one.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Near black, small creamy head. Interesting coffee aroma with some rum and raisins. Mid sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Mild spicy hops, chocolate and toffee. Fairly low bitterness. Elegant as always from S:t Eriks. Well balanced. Nice on its own, even better with sweet dishes. olsvammel (7286) - Örebro, SWEDEN - NOV 2, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2012 Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a very dark black-red liquid with a light brown head. Sweet smell of chocolate, fruits (mainly strawberries) and vanilla. Similar taste. Fairly sweet. I like it, I think it would work well at the Christmas table. SaintMatty (7518) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - NOV 28, 2012

Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a beige head. Malty, coffee, chocolate, caramel, just a bit sweet, medium bitterness, rather light bodied. Very balanced and easy drinking porter. But the alcohol level is a bit too high to make it a real session beer. fonefan (51064) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2013
