Another beer that I’ve found way back in my beer cellar.
It has been brewed with Mackmyra smoked malt.
The beer pours clear, mahogny red-brown with a one finger high head that doesn’t leave any lacing. madsberg (11774) - Søborg, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2016
Nose: A lot of smoke, charcuterie, oak and caramel.
Taste: Sweet taste, a little to sweet. Caramel, oak, smoked ham, brown sugar and wood.
Mouth: Medium body. Light carbonation. Sweet, to sweet ending.
Nope. I like rauchbier but this is too sweet for me.
Bottled. Amber coloured, unclear. Dense light beige head. Aroma. Meat, smoke, bacon, peat. Flavour. Peat, smoke, fruits, meat, bacon. Medium bodied. Ends peated and smoked. Turtles (2887) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 10, 2015
330ml bottle from Systembolaget, Hornstull. Clear dark amber, one-finger size white head. Smoky aroma of peat and tar. Light and rounded mouthfeel, gentle carbonated. Smoky taste without being too heavy, sweet caramel is there behind the tar and peat. Seffle (464) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - NOV 13, 2015
Bottle from SB 151113.
Clear dark coppery body with lasting beige head. Very heavy peaty smoke and nice juniper touch both in nose and palate. You can recognise the Mackmyra smoke clearly, which is very nice in itself, but takes completely over the beer feel. The beer itself is too weak and sweet so the result is very unbalanced. It's an interesting beer but I'd rather drink the whiskey separatedly.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear red-brown, beige head. Huge, almost medicinal, peaty aroma is dominating everything else. The taste, just as weird and full of peat, which tastes almost like petrol. Some malts behind all of this. Feels thin and overcarbonated. It really needs to get used to.

Flaske 330ml fra Systembolaget Umeå - Wasagallerian. Drukket i Skibotn 3 Jul 15. Gyldenbrun. Lavt tett skum som blir nesten helt borte. Kraftig whiskyaroma. Litt sur, bålaktig. Smaken forsterker det sure bålpreget. Bra - men mer røykwhisky enn øl.
Blir obalanserat. Svesse (8731) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 20, 2015
(Bottle) Dark reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, smoky nose with peat, smoked ham, brown bread, tar and a touch of heather honey. Malty, smoky taste with notes of tar, peat, smoked ham, bread, a touch of orange peel and a finish where peat smoke overshadows a gentle bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well made with a solid peat smoke and tar character. Possibly a bit one-dimensional, and something of an acquired taste. Quite nice. Wischylini (347) - Praha, CZECH REPUBLIC - SEP 10, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2017 Appearance Deep dark amber, clear, minimal head larsga (7625) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 17, 2015
Aroma Peat, iodine, tar, sugary malt
Taste Mildly sweet, salty
Palate Light body, medium-high carbonation
Overall Bought two bottles in 2015; drank one immediately and hated it, stored the other one for about two years, and it had a much more balanced aroma profile.
Big beige head doesn’t last. Clear reddish body with carbonation.
Peat smoke and toffee aroma with creosote and chocolate notes, as well
as earth and barnyard. Interesting. Recognizably similar to Scottish
peated beers, like Ola Dubh, and not at all like the smoke character
in Gotlandsdricke. Sweetish peat smoke toffee and licorice taste with
earthy creosote notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish
peat smoke, earth and roastiness aftertaste with creosote and barnyard
notes. Lovely beer with lots of flavour. (0.33l bottle, from
