330ml Bottle - Dark copper with some red tinges and a foamy head. Roasted malt, nuts, dried fruit, rye bread and coffee in the aroma. The taste is roasted with notes of chestnuts, dried fruit, caramel, coffee and roasted malt. A pleasant surprise as I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as this. blafa (511) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 7, 2011
A wonderful clear mahogany colour and a thick head makes this a really appealing beer! Big aromas hits me, first off the roasted notes with coffee, nuts and burned sugar. Graciously followed up by sweeter notes of fruits like, figs, plums and grapes. In the background some hops and tea. What a great complexity for being a darker lager! The taste also hits a high standard with a nice mix of rusk bread, nuts, roasted malt and light hops. The beer is not as sweet as the aromas might have suggested, instead its quite bitter - very bitter for a lager. Though the bitterness works quite well with the rich aromas. Gently carbonation and a medium body makes this exceptional with food. This is by far the best beer I’ve tasted from S:t Eriks. I may sound overly enthusiastic but this is how pleasantly surprised it made me!

Bottle from Systembolaget, pours dark red/amber with a good head. A pleasant, slightly sweet malty aroma, but surprisingly hoppy taste. Not too much carbonation, which is good. All in all a very good dark lager. No doubt one of my favourites from St. Eriks. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2011
