Bottle. Yellow pour with white head. Spice, yeast and light hop aromas. Belgian yeast, touch of hops, some spice flavors. glennmastrange (2899) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - AUG 11, 2014
Bottle. Moderate aromas of grain and hay for the malt, grass and lemon for the hops, musty basement for the yeast, with hints of spicy apple and pepper. Head is large fizzy/frothy, white with excellent crusty lacing and is fully lasting. Color is hazy light amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, slick with a fizzy carbonation and finishes moderately alcoholic. When this Belgian Strong Ale starts off cold it’s light and refreshing, as it warms the complexity and gravity catches up. Very nice. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2014
[Tap] Translucent golden pour with a large cap of white head. Aromas of wet grass, some barnyard and some sweet fruity esters. Taste is of Belgian yeast, residual sugars, grass, spices and hints of alcohol. Lemon zest and floral hop finish. Interesting for sure. Tasting notes from early 2012. Pours a bright hazy yellow with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is floral & peppery... it has bright citrusy notes & some earthiness akin to wet limestone. It’s a somewhat mild bouquet but a very nice one indeed.
The flavor is floral and citrusy, there is a touch of honey-like sweetness up front but form there is spicy and generally dry particularly in the finish. The beer has some light banana and some herbal bitterness.
Way way different than Friendship Beer a’la Green Flash!
Bottle - Fruity, with some grassy hops and a yeasty finish. Clear gold with a thin bubbly head. Lots of fruit esters, light grains and some spice. A big beer with a soft rounded velvety taste. Trappist1 (646) - Diest, BELGIUM - MAR 12, 2014
From tap @ Delirium. Hay yellow, white head. Nose: malty, hops, peppery, some spices. something is holding back the nose, cant appreciate. Taste is fruity, citrus, peach, metallic in the finish. rounded, balanced, bit alcoholic, but alcohol is well hidden. Overall okey beer, taste is better, refreshing, easy drinker. tricky. bmerz (741) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Draught at Mugs split thy skull. Pours hazy yellow with lots of head and lace. Aroma is super nice well rounded soft wheat citrus and light spices. Taste adds a grittier spice after a juicy blend of peach, unripe orange, and a squeeze of lemon. Feel is soft, lively, and a little astringent. love this. Could drink all summer...or any day.
